Love thy neighbor… from a safe distance.

Love thy neighbor… from a safe distance.

Share some community spirit — compose a message (not necessarily romantic!) to someone in Strathearn and we will hand deliver it for you on Valentine’s Day.

How it works:

Before 8 am on February 9, you can submit a message and pay here – we will print out your message and deliver it on February 13th or 14th.

OR

Before 8 am on February 9, print off our template* and fill it out yourself, then enclose with $2 and leave it in the community hall mailbox. We will collect these and deliver them the same as those that are ordered through the website.

PLEASE NOTE:

Deadline for message submission: 8 am on Tuesday, Feb 9th.

Each message costs $2.

You must include the recipient’s address and it must be within the Strathearn neighborhood boundary. Although we probably all know where “Andrew with the hat” lives, we want to ensure the right people are reached.

Funds will be used for league expenses such as funding league events, supplies or maintenance for the rink or AV system, beautification of the grounds/garden, etc.

* Template instructions: Print off the page. Write the recipient’s name and address on the “deliver to” lines. Turn over and write your message on the other side. Fold over on the dotted lines and tape closed.

Hail, hail Rock 'n' Roll!

We're excited to announce that we're continuing our partnership with Backbeat! (PS- the young model with guitar pictured above is a Strathearner who took advantage of this promotion last year!) And this time you have even more options to score a deal on awesome music classes...while supporting local at the same time!

Backbeat is a music school that ROCKS on Whyte Ave. Backbeat teaches kids music by putting them into rock bands and offering one-of-a-kind classes that get kids excited about learning music. Backbeat is offering an exclusive 20% discount to Strathearn Community League members on the following three programs:

  • Little Beats - a 6-week program that will give your 3-5 year-old a basic introduction to music fundamentals while placing them in their very own (noise rock) band!

  • Bigger Beats - a 10-week program that gives your 5-7 year-old a chance to try an instrument without you having to buy them one or nag them about practicing.

  • Intro to Guitar - an 8-week program that gives your 8-10 year-old the perfect introduction to guitar - one that teaches them what they need to know while getting them pumped about learning music!

To qualify, you simply need to be a member of the Strathearn Community League. Don't miss out! Register online now and use coupon code SCL20 to receive discount. Please note: proof of community league membership may be required.

Strathearn Art Walk Presents: An Outdoor Gallery Experience

We cannot imagine a year without art in Strahearn Park! To keep the artistic spirit alive and continue the Strathearn Art Walk, a socially distanced outdoor art gallery curated from the over 300 artists usually found during the Strathearn Art Walk has been created.

Come out from August 17 through September 13, 2020 in Strathearn Park along the Strathearn Drive mulit-use path to view the art boards as you stroll through the park!

This year would have been the 9th Annual Strathearn Art Walk& Music Festival, an event that features a wide range of artists and brings people together to celebrate professional and emerging art and music against the scenic backdrop of our beautiful river valley and city skyline.
