We’ve made it easy for you to provide a safe environment for your event guests:

• The kitchen has a plexiglass divider with pass-through for safer food preparation and serving. The kitchen can be accessed directly from the exterior, making food delivery easy

• Wireless streaming for music and video

We are accepting reservations for future event bookings. We can provide tours of the hall. Contact hall@strathearncl.org for more information.

Rent The Hall

Rental Details

• Minimum hourly rental is 3 hours

• Half Day is either 8am-4pm or 4pm-midnight

• Time for set-up and self clean-up of your event must be included within your rental time frame. Alternatively, we do offer cleaning services for an additional charge.

• Discounts may be available for multiple bookings (multi-day and/or recurring events)

• Payment is by Credit card or cheque

• Rentals are not confirmed until the reservation deposit has been paid and the rental contract signed

• Event insurance is required for all rentals —more info can be found here.

• An example of the forms we need from your insurer can be found here.

• Events with liquor must have an appropriate liquor license issued by AGLC.

Location

Our Hall is located at 9511-90 St, and it’s a building we’re all be able to be proud of. Designed from the ground up to meet the unique needs and vision of our community, it’s a place to meet your neighbours, enjoy activities, learn a new skills, relax with friends, or just admire as you walk by.

Capacity

The main Hall room can seat up to 75 people (depending on the seating arrangement chosen), maximum standing capacity is 120 people. 

Hall Amenities

Kitchen

Servery-type kitchen with a single sink with sprayer, fridge / freezer, dual wall oven, microwave, toaster, 40 cup coffee urns (2), drip coffeemakers (2), and electric griddles (2).

The kitchen pass-thru allows you to serve directly into the main hall. This pass-thru has been retrofitted with an acrylic partition to safeguard against the spread of COVID-19

The kitchen is stocked with a variety of plates, cutlery and serving dishes.

• Connect your phone or audio device (3.5mm audio jack required for hard connection, or cast wirelessly from your wifi-enabled device)

• Play a CD or USB with Mp3 Audio files

• Use an online music streaming service

• Use audio output from a DVD or other digital projection

• Mix up to 12 audio input sources into up to 8 output channels

Our audio system includes one wireless and one wired microphone with stand and two ElectroVoice built in powered speakers at the front of the hall, all wired to our Mackie DL1608 digital mixing board. The hall has 8 XLR inputs at front of house (in-wall), 4 optional DI boxes (to accept quarter inch inputs), and 6 Aux Send outputs (quarter inch) on the mixing board allowing up to 8 powered speakers in total.

Projector System

Our professional quality video projector is bright enough to be used even with the lights on, and is linked to a multi format media player.

Wirelessly cast presentations, web pages, and video with audio to our system with no additional software or hardware needed. Supports AirPlay, Google Cast and Miracast.

Connect your laptop or device (HDMI jack required, or cast wirelessly from your wifi-enabled device)

• Play Blu-Ray, DVD, or CD Audio

• Connect a USB stick or burned CD / DVD with MP4 video, MP3 and WMA audio, or a JPG image slideshow

Show Lights

Set and control the mood for your event using our ten production quality show lights, all controlled from our built in lighting panel. Use colour wash lights to illuminate the room from above in any colour or changing sequence, set the floor alblaze with twin spotlights, or bathe front of house with shimmering multicoloured wash from our front of house truss lights.

We’re programmed preset scenes into our lighting control panel - just press the button to change the look of the room.

• Wash the hall in your corporate colours for a meeting, press conference, staff party or team celebration

• Light up your stage two high output stage spotlights that can be aimed individually from the floor, or set to move, strobe, and change colour automatically

• Wash the ceiling in any colour, or sequence of changing colours with our four truss wash lights

• Illuminate the front of house in solid, smooth cycling or colour changing sequence that responds to your music

• Janitor closet fully stocked with equipment and supplies

• Skate change room suitable as a play area, buffet serving line, or separate small meeting room

• Security cameras to provide safety and security for your guests

• Large deck along the rear of the building suitable for BBQs, parties, and outdoor events

This building exists because of you

Construction of the Strathearn Community Hall was managed by Strathearn Building Society, a registered canadian charity. Hundreds of individuals and businesses gave their time and money to realize this project, and SBS continues to fundraise for projects to improve parks, facilities and spaces within Edmonton.

Completion of the hall was made possible with funding provided by the Social Enterprise Fund.
